Some modern so called, self proclaimed, highly esteemed Bengali Bard`s(may be poet) poem crossed the invisible thin line between passion and sex and highly applaud by some bone headed literally unskilled reader. This is a dangerous trend in the prosperity of our great literature. here some analytical aspect of it.Poets have long been using their Poems of Passion and Sex poems to aid their passiona ... te pursuits. In the first century B.C., Catullus wrote his lyrics to Lesbia, pleading with her to ignore the gossip of old men and instead share thousands of kisses, so many that they lose count: Let us live, my Lesbia, and let us love, and let us judge all the rumors of the old men to be worth just one penny! The phrase "Carpe Diem," from a quote by Horace, means "seize the day," and is often used to describe persuasive poetry designed to convince the object of the poet’s desire to make love--for time is short, as the argument goes, and anyt...

Homosexuality, the law, ethics and the Bible.............

Homosexuality: the law, ethics & the Bible What the Bible says: The biblical case against the act of homosexuality is quite clear: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination" [Lev 18.22] "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act ..." [Lev 20.13] "You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a dog [male prostitute] into the house of the Lord ..." [Deut 23.18] "There were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations ..." [1 Kings 14:24] "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law ..." [Mat 5.17] " ... men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts ..." [Rom 1.27] "Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolators, no...

Baptism of blood.

My grand father was a famous hunter at his time and a special game shot who was  well known for his art of hunting and big moustache. A few years before we could heard of his kudos. He was a successful member of British Pioneer Riffle Association. An African ivory studded famous 303 riffle, a Lion & Lion branded beautiful double barreled gun and an American short gun were under his pride possession. They were always shining as their esteemed owner as well as their famous western manufacturers. He had a good knack of hunting. In our childhood we used to see many crafted stag head with real horns and stuffed big cats skins. A big buffalo head was fastened on a pillar behind his huge chair. He was indeed a very tall person having a height of six feet six inches. He was also a very rich person too. His personality was  so strong that anyone could misunderstood him and dare to talk with him. In fact he he was a very friendly and pleasant person ...

A bloddy heart and broken wings.

Yesterday I experienced an intolerable pain in my heart. I could not find any reason behind it. The allegation was a serious one, as if I payed  extra attention to a self conscious lady who was undergoing  a psychological  turmoil, intentionally to got a little bit of favour or advantage to enjoy her youth. That may  wounded her entity and soul. First of all I begged unconditional forgiveness to her. I am not a misogynist, not a lascivious person also, I am an ultra humanist who believes in absolute monogamy. She is in the same age group of my niece and she is at least twenty years younger than me. My son is now eight  years old, my wife has  passed away,  who was suffering  from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia  five years back. My life is now concentrated entirely on my son who is my only own and the only visible remembrance of my golden days.  A few number of person whom I have no blood relation but they are more than that. The...

The memory that never erased

When I was only eight. She came to our locality with her family. She is Kanna and that time she was only five. Among her brother and sister she was the smallest and prettiest. We grew up in the same environment where  my and her siblings also grew up. I could remember those days when we shared almost every things. From green mangoes, candies, guavas to pens and books even also punishments which were given by our parents. Swimming in a village pond was our favourite fun as well as the strongest cause of punishment to our parents. She couldn't swim well and became the funniest character of  ridicule at the pond. But she was a great fighter, and now, I can confess now that she knocked me down quite a  good numbers of time. My mother loved her a lot and supported her also even her nuisance. It backed  her up every now and then. She was a good singer and a painter too. Her crying and nagging irritating personality were unbearable to me. Everybody used to tr...
